Our Journey

Over the last few decades, marketing has become extremely complex.  Small business owners, CEOs, and Founders often don't have the resources for large marketing teams or to contract with large marketing agencies.  Small business marketing teams typically consist of one or two people trying to manage all marketing strategy and execution.  Oftentimes, the marketing team has limited experience or is specialized in one or two disciplines.  They typically get buried in execution and reactivity and have little time to strategize or focus on efficiency.

If only there was a agency that allowed small businesses to tap into the resources they need, at any given time, that fit within the company's budget. No matter if it was complex strategy, executing email campaigns, building the company's loyalty program, or, strategizing about a better website. The perfect solution is a budget-friendly membership model that allows small businesses to tap into any resource they need, at any time. Not a full-time team member in-house, but someone out-of-house -  a trusted resource that could execute marketing the same as a team member could as if they were employed by the company.

That's our House, and how House of Hardway was born.

Matthew Kenagy

Founder

With over two decades in a variety of marketing roles across a number of disciplines, Matt spent a large portion of his career marketing some of the largest integrated resorts and casinos in the world.  You may also know Matt another name, "MK Hardway", a persona he uses on stage, in videos, and in writing articles aimed at looking at the humorous side of life, business, and some of the industries in which he's worked.

Matt understands the complexities of marketing and works with clients to simplify their strategies. He works to understand each business model, develop customized solutions to help the unique needs of each client, and measure success each month through established KPIs. As he likes to say, "Focus on what matters and moves the needle - you'll be surprised to find out 3-5 key strategies will get you 80% of the way there. Execute fewer things better, and you're small business will be better for it."
